Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors are a professional basketball team based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. They are a member of the Atlantic Division in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Established in 1995, the Raptors became the first Canadian team to play in the NBA. The team’s name, “Raptors,” was inspired by the popularity of dinosaurs, particularly due to the success of the film “Jurassic Park” released around the same time. The Raptors have a notable fan base and play their home games at Scotiabank Arena. The franchise achieved significant success in the 2018-2019 NBA season when they won their first NBA Championship, becoming the first Canadian team to do so.
