Football

Football, often referred to as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each, primarily played on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net. Players use various parts of their bodies to move the ball and pass it, with the exception of the goalkeepers, who are allowed to use their hands within a designated area called the penalty box.

Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Matches are typically played in two halves, and the team with the most goals at the end of the game wins.

Football is one of the most popular sports globally, known for its widespread following, professional leagues, and international competitions, such as the FIFA World Cup. The sport emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, making it a dynamic and engaging pastime for players and fans alike.
